The Greens would implement a scheme that works!

Yet another Tory UK Govt pledge, the Green Homes Grant (GHG) scheme, contracted out to the private sector (an American consultant?) fails miserably. To quote from the article, "there is frustration in Whitehall at the American consultants brought in to manage the scheme".

Greenpeace UK described the rollout of the GHG scheme as "shambolic".

The Green Party has, for many years, pledged: "Large-scale refurbishment programmes will be carried out to greatly increase the energy efficiency of existing buildings." It is about time we had an effective, well-managed scheme to insulate the UK housing stock to save energy, reduce carbon emissions and reduce fuel poverty. At the same time, we create jobs. It should be a Win-Win!
