Norfolk County Council (NCC) has announced the Postwick Park & Ride will remain closed for the foreseeable future. This is very disappointing as Park & Ride schemes are designed to reduce traffic levels in cities lowering air pollution and congestion.
NCC says it is committed to active travel, cutting carbon emissions, and improving public transport but it is unwilling to subsidise services designed for these purposes. Instead, it is pushing ahead with new road building schemes.
We are facing a climate crisis and these decisions are taking us in entirely the wrong direction.
