This article in the New Statesman, 27 January 2023, points out that we need to deal with the social crisis and the climate crisis together. Corporate profits in big businesses such as energy companies are rising, while for large numbers of working people wages are falling in real terms, and living costs are rising.
Climate change is already having an impact on energy production. We need to reduce overall energy demand, phase out fossil fuels ASAP and increase renewable energy production.
Change has to be done in a fair and equitable way and the introduction of universal public services would be a big step forward.
