A future for everyone

We need a green recovery at both local and national levels. Our elected councillors have proposed motions at Council meetings to put more funding into improving the insulation and energy efficiency of existing local housing and to take action to address the changes in climate, the impact on nature, and the decline in biodiversity.

We will work together to:

Safeguard our green spaces for our health and wellbeing. Working with Brundall parish council we have supported air quality monitoring throughout Brundall.

Ensure when new houses are built, they are built to the highest environmental and energy-efficient standards. We shall continue to challenge the quality of new housing that does not include high standards of insulation and renewable heating.

Lobby for more affordable housing and the availability of sheltered housing for our older residents. We participate in a panel to understand the demands on social housing providers in the current cost of living crisis.

Improve rural public transport to ensure it is accessible, affordable, comfortable, efficient, and convenient. For example, we continue to lobby hard for the reinstatement of Postwick Park & Ride.

We have engaged with local industry & businesses to transition to a green economy.

We support local Recycle schemes to reduce plastic waste in the environment.

Manage the risk of flooding by requesting, as we did in a recent Council meeting, that no more houses should be built in areas liable to flooding.

Address mental health through community engagement and activities at a local level which is something we are actively involved in championing.
