Soil Health slipping down the Agenda in the UK

It seems that soil health is slipping down the agenda, although DEFRA (Department of Food and Rural Affairs) says it is not.   We need soil health monitoring measures in the UK and  we also need to monitor the use of land.  This is a big issue for Norfolk where development is still planned for greenfield sites, sometimes on high grade agricultural land.   For example, if the A47 Blofield to Burlingham dualling goes ahead, some grade 1 agricultural land will be lost.

Green peer, Baroness Natlalie Bennett has raised the issue of soil health and it’s importance at government levels.
